Background
The Young Economists Convention aims to bring together junior and senior undergraduate economics students from Metro Manila and the rest of the country with the objective of promoting awareness of economic issues and developing critical thinking and constructive interaction among the youth, with the goal of enabling them to put into practice the economic theories and concepts they have learned as they step up to become the Philippines' future leaders and policy makers.
The unifying theme of this Convention is Economic Effects of Political and Constitutional Change. This theme will be thoroughly analyzed and discussed in the panel discussions by representatives from the public, private and political sectors and likewise be the topic of the research papers to be presented by the student research teams in ths concurrent sessions. Each research team will have members from different schools thus instilling camaraderie and developing professionalism among they gear towards research excellence in Economics.
