The Philippine Council for Islam and Democracy (PCID), the Magbassa Kita Foundation, Inc. (MKFI), and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) launched Abraham Iribani's book, "Give Peace a Chance: The Story of the GRP-MNLF Peace Talks" at the Asian Institute of Management Conference Center. In attendance were friends of the author, journalists, foreign diplomats and members of civil society groups. The late Abet Iribani was the spokesperson of the MNLF during the Peace Process leading to the historic signing of the 1996 Final Peace Agreement and was also co-founder of PCID. His book, according to PCID lead convenor Ms. Amina Rasul-Bernardo "with its honest analyses and faithful documentation of the purposes and intentions behind the 1996 FPA, shall serve as a reminder of how difficult and rewarding peace building is." In his remarks, KAS Country Representative Mr. Klaus Preschle expressed the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s pride in publishing the book: "we want to honor a friend" and noted that for everyone interested in securing the peace in Muslim MIndanao there is so much to gain from the book. Atty. Nasser Marohomsalic, chair the Muslim Legal Assistance Foundation; Hon. Ismael Abubakar, Jr.; and Dr. Mashur Bin-Ghalib Jundam, dean of the U.P. Institute of Islamic Studies also paid tribute to the author. The of the author, Atty. Jose Lorena who is also executive director of the Muslim Mayors' League spoke on behalf of the Iribani family. Mr. Bart Guingona of the Pagbabago Movement was Master of Ceremonies.
