International Workshop Water-Energy-Food Nexus

Implementation in the Mashreq

The International Workshop aims at analyzing how global climate change affects the links between the water, energy and agricultural sector.

The workshop will especially address the question how future changes in climate and water demand in the MENA region may affect trade-offs and synergies about the use and distribution of water for energy and food industry. To address these issues, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung REMENA (Germany) and MEDRC Water Research Center (Oman) will organize jointly a 3-days regional workshop (including one day for technical visit) gathering renowned international experts together with representatives from Ministries and other players of water, energy and agriculture in the Mashreq countries.

This international workshop will be a unique opportunity to transfer knowledge and help implementing the WEF concept in the MENA region.

With this event, KAS - REMENA and MEDRC Water Research follow up on the successful format from December 2017, which focused on the countries of the Maghreb.
