Details

The Arab Spring highlights the need for structural reforms to ensure a substantial increase in the pace of economic growth. The MENA Countries, similar to many emerging market economies, face wide gaps in terms of Corporate Governance compared to their industrialized counterparts. The variations in Arab economic structures and the diversity of companies in these economies make it difficult to create one role model to implement the already-agreed on principles of good governance. But a sustainable financial future cannot “sustain” without corporate governance: sound financial reporting, transparency, accountability. These are necessary steps towards achieving “emerging market” status. Therefore, in the context of the CSR network evening Dr. Nasser H. Saidi, talks about “Corporate Governance in the MENA Region - Next steps after the Arab Spring”
