Discussion
Details
The Arab world is going through an historic period of change. Across the region, citizens are demanding reforms, transparent governance, and a say in their destinies. At the forefront of change in many Arab countries have been women, who are demonstrating in large numbers along their male compatriots for a better future. But is that really the case? What was the actual extent of Arab women's involvement in the uprisings?
The fourth Dubai Debates will raise awareness of women’s ongoing struggle for freedom in the region and allow for a reflective discussion of their role as leaders in the emerging new Arab world order. Prominent activists like Mozn Hassan from Egypt as well as Amira Yahyaoui from Tunisia will discuss together with Political Science Professor Dr. Ebtissam Al Kitbi on December 18th in Dubai about the current and future role of women in the change of the Arab World.
Participation is highly encouraged; video questions and comments can be submitted in advance at www.dubaidebates.com and selected clips will be played during the panel debate.
