International Dialogue Programme on Energy Security - Regional Programme Gulf States
Study and Information Program
Details
Energy is what makes our world go round. Without its steady supply, life as we know it would be all but possible. But with a rapidly rising global consumption, dwindling fossil fuel reserves and proliferating regional crises, pressure is mounting on governments around the world to find new, innovative ways to secure their supply in uncertain times.
Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung has therefore invited four energy experts from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates to participate in its International Dialogue Programme on Energy Security from 12 to 18 October 2014.
Together with experts from nine countries, the participants from the Gulf region will gain a comprehensive understanding of German and European responses to challenges in the field of energy security, including Germany’s transition to renewable energy sources (the Energiewende). In addition to meetings with German Members of Parliament, relevant think-tanks, businesses and policy-makers, their visit will also include a hands-on tour of the Dirkshof wind farm located in Husum near the North Sea.
