The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) South Africa, together with the EFSA Institute and the Cape Development and Dialogue Centre Trust (CDDC), is pleased to announce the release of the new publication Strengthening Democracy and Human Dignity – In South Africa and Beyond. Developed from the 2025 cycle of National Church Leaders Consultations, the publication brings together contributions from prominent South African and international theologians, policy experts, and ecumenical leaders.
The volume synthesises key insights emerging from dialogue among senior church leaders, with chapters examining governance challenges, ethical leadership, public theology, food security, and global shifts affecting democracy and human rights. By presenting these reflections in a cohesive format, the publication provides a timely resource for stakeholders seeking to understand the evolving role of faith communities in promoting democratic culture and social cohesion.
This release forms part of KAS South Africa’s broader work to advance evidence‑based engagement, strengthen democratic institutions, and promote ecumenical collaboration. The publication will be distributed to church networks, civil society organisations, academic institutions, and policymakers, contributing to ongoing efforts to build principled leadership and inclusive democratic governance.
