The EDP X-Change 2026, convened by the Economic Development Partnership with partners such as KAS, is an annual platform for cross-sector dialogue. It brings together leaders from government, business, civil society and academia to exchange practical insights and identify opportunities for joint action.
Taking place alongside South Africa’s local elections, the event focuses on how municipalities can continue to deliver on core needs, job creation, infrastructure, services and economic opportunity, despite leadership changes. It highlights the importance of resilient local systems within broader provincial and national frameworks, especially as reforms like Operation Vulindlela and the new White Paper on Local Government are implemented.
