The Konrad‑Adenauer‑Stiftung, in partnership with the Cape Town Holocaust and Genocide Centre (CTHGC), invites you to an educational initiative focused on the fragility of democracy and the responsibility of citizens in safeguarding democratic systems.
Drawing on historical lessons from the Holocaust and other genocides, this event will explore how democratic institutions can erode when civic responsibility, accountability, and active participation are weakened. Participants will critically examine the warning signs of democratic decline and reflect on the role individuals and communities play in fostering resilience, inclusion, and respect for human rights.
This initiative aims to encourage informed civic engagement and strengthen democratic values by connecting past experiences with present‑day challenges.
