The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung South Africa, in partnership with the Ukrainian Association of South Africa, presents a Winter School exploring the global and African implications of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Bringing together African and Ukrainian scholars, the programme strengthens policy-oriented research, fosters academic cooperation, and advances dialogue on Africa’s reform agenda, security interests, and international positioning.
The Winter School aims to strengthen the analytical capacity of South African and African participants by:
- developing a shared understanding of the global and African implications of the Russian invasion of Ukraine;
- facilitating collaborative policy analysis between Ukrainian and African experts;
- building a sustainable academic and civil-society network to inform African decision-makers; and
- bridging cultural, historical, and security perspectives to support long-term dialogue relevant to African reforms.
Through lectures, interactive discussions, and collaborative research sessions, the Winter School seeks to foster enduring partnerships and contribute to informed, forward-looking policy debates on Ukraine–Africa relations.
