The topic discussed will be «Katiba moja kwa Watanzania wote – pamoja tutafika! Building a National Consensus for the New Constitution».

In mid-February 2014 the Constituent Assembly is expected to review, discuss and amend the second draft of the new constitution which was recently handed over to the President by the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC).

The final draft shall finally be taken to the referendum whereby all Tanzanians will have an opportunity to vote for or against the new constitution. In order to meet the criteria within the Constitutional Assembly and in the referendum a broad national consensus is needed.

Therefore the public forum of the 12th Mandeleo-Dialogue hosted by TADIP and KAS invites respective stakeholders and interested citizens to discuss their opinion, expectations and concerns regarding the constitutional reform. It shall contribute in finding a national consensus in support of the new constitution and inspire the deliberations within the Constitutional Assembly which is expected to start their work only a few days later.
