Workshop
Details
Climate change is real. Its consequences are becoming more and more visible, especially in countries like Tanzania, where about 80 percent of the population depend on agriculture in one way or the other. Heavy rains and droughts affect people all over the country, making food security and energy supply the major challenges for the coming years. Politics must react to this threat.
The event, which is organised in cooperation with KAS Tanzania, is meant as a kick-off for the KAS partner party to work in the field of climate change. The aim is to initiate the debate of a strategic plan on climate policy which will be included in the policy statements of CHADEMA.
During the workshop, the members of the party will be supported by independent experts on climate and energy, MPs John Mnyika and Tundu Lissu will act as discussants.
