From 13 to 17 September, German MP Charles M. Huber visited Tanzania in the frame of a dialogue program. The visit took place on the occasion of the National Party Convention of CHADEMA (Party for Democracy and Progress). In addition, MP Huber held talks with the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Mohamed G. Bilal and representatives of Tanzanian civil society.

"Tanzania before the election year 2015 - Conflicts about the constitutional reform process and the reform of the electoral law" was the topic of the consultation with the Tanzania Constitution Forum Jukwaa la Katiba

On behalf of the CDU secretary general, MP Huber accepted the invitation to Dar es Salaam to represent the CDU at this important event of their Tanzanian partner party. During the numerous interesting dialogues with politicians of the government and opposition parties as well as with experts and representatives of CSOs, the main issues discussed were questions about sustainable development, good governance, peace keeping and conflict prevention, particularly with regard to the upcoming elections in 2015. Furthermore, the importance of the educational opportunities for the young generation, which is the key for a sustainable, economically successful and peaceful development of the country, was emphasized.
