The Huduma Fellowship is a leadership development program for emerging civic and public sector leaders in Uganda, focused on ethical leadership, public affairs management, and policymaking skills. The reunion, the first of its kind, offered a space for reflection, dialogue, learning, and reconnection - all centred around the Institute’s mission of nurturing values-based leadership in Africa.

The event started with a moderated discussion on "Why We Invest in Ethical and Values-Based Leadership" with Anna Reismann, Country Representative at Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, and Angelo Izama, Head of Faculty Emeritus at the LéO Africa Institute.

This was followed by a series of class reunions led by their Class Valedictorians. Each group engaged with the reading “Letter from the Cathedral of Milan” by Bill Shore, a starting point for meaningful reflections on leadership, service, and professional growth.

The afternoon resumed with a compelling panel discussion on “Evaluating Fellows’ Journeys of Moving from Success to Significance, giving fellows a platform to share their journey as leaders. The keynote address by Mrs. Alen Kagina, a retired and highly respected public servant, emphasized the importance of humility, integrity, and courage in public leadership.

The programme concluded with final reflections from Awel Uwihanganye, Co-founder and Team Lead at the LéO Africa Institute, who emphasized the meaning of sustaining a community of practice where leaders can grow, reflect, and act upon shared values.
