The conference is dedicated to the role of veterans in the development of territorial communities, local self-government, and public governance in Ukraine. Participants will discuss opportunities for veterans’ engagement in decision-making processes, challenges related to veteran leadership, mechanisms of cooperation with public authorities, and best practices in civic participation. The event will also feature the presentation of the educational initiative “School of Public Policy and Governance for Veterans”, designed to strengthen the leadership and management capacities of veterans.
The conference will bring together representatives of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, national and local government authorities, veterans’ organizations, civil society organizations, and the expert community.
Veterans from Odesa and Odesa Region, as well as representatives of veterans’ organizations and civil society organizations, are invited to participate.
The conference will take place on 18 September in Odesa (in-person format; the venue will be communicated to registered and confirmed participants).
The number of participants is limited.
The conference is organized by the NGO Institute of Psychology, Politics and Society in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Office in Ukraine, with the support of the Odesa City Military Administration, Odesa City Council, and the Department of Veterans Affairs of Odesa City Council.
Should the security situation deteriorate, the date and format of the conference may be adjusted. All registered participants will be informed accordingly.
