Germany-USA-Israel: A difficult nexus of relationships?

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung presents recent study at UCLA

Dr. Lars Hansel will present the findings of a recent survey by KAS, which analyzes the roles of the U.S. and Germany in the Middle East as perceived by representative samples of respondents from Israel, the U.S. and the Palestinian Territories.

The study also examines the impact of current events such as the upcoming US elections, the refugee crisis in Europe and the Iran Nuclear Deal on the relations between the three countries and the way in which they are perceived.

Dr. Lars Hänsel, director of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Washington, DC, co-authored the study and will present an analysis of the findings. Dr. Hansel served as KAS director in Israel for six years before coming to the U.S. He will discuss the implications of the KAS study with high level experts Stefan Biedermann from the German Consulate General of Germany in Los Angeles and Dr. Shira Efron, a senior policy expert from the RAND Corporation.

The discussion will take place at the University of California Los Angeles campus (UCLA)on May 5, 2016. The event is hosted jointy by the UCLA Center for European and Russian Studies, the Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies and KAS.
