The roundtable featured senior officials from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, leaders from German industry, and seasoned trade policy advisors. Daniel Caspary, Chair of the CDU/CSU Group in the European Parliament, gave the keynote speech. Caspary emphasized the importance of trust-building and mutual understanding in navigating the current trade environment.
The second event, a webinar titled “The Implications of New German and EU Politics for the Transatlantic Trade Relationship,” brought together a panel of experts to assess the broader policy shifts underway in Europe. The discussion focused on the evolving balance between economic security and free trade in German and EU policy, the potential impact of the Draghi Report, and the global ramifications of proposed changes to German fiscal rules and investment strategies.
