Economic Forum in Togo 2022

Success of the KAS brand in Lomé

From 12 to 13 April 2022, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), Abidjan Regional Office, through its Policy Dialogue Programme in West Africa (PDWA), organised in partnership with the “Centre Autonome d'Etudes et de Renforcement des Capacités pour le Développement au Togo” (CADERDT) and the Center for Research and Opinion Polls (CROP), an economic forum in Lomé, Togo, on the theme: “Economic Development in Togo”.

Held at the “Hotel 2 Février”, the event brought together economists, economic operators, academics, start-ups, MPs, public administration executives, journalists and experts from various sectors. Centred around various communications and a panel discussion, the exchanges made it possible to explore the past, discuss the present, and envisage inclusive solutions for the future of the Togolese economy.

The forum was opened by KAS Abidjan Resident Representative and PDWA Director Dr. Stefanie Brinkel, the German Ambassador to Togo H.E. Mr. Matthias Veltin, and the Chairman of the Finance and Economic Development Committee of the Togolese National Assembly, He. Mawussi Djossou Semondji.

The participants also worked in groups on sectoral solutions, notably on the economy in urban areas, the economy in rural areas, the economy and gender issues, the economy and youth.
