Voters sensitisation and awareness is a crucial component in preparation of the upcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections slated for November 2024. As part of its contribution to democracy and electoral process, KAS is supporting the voter education discussion programme on NBC Radio. We urge the public to tune in every Tuesday, 10:00 -11:00 and participate.

Roundtable on current socioeconomic situation in Angola
Informal Sector, Labor market, wage policy and developmental economic implication in Angola
This is the 2nd Roundtable on Economic Affairs conducted by KAS in collaboration with the University of Lusiada/Angola. The topics that will be presented by various experts and discussed with academic and political fraternity will deal with the current environment on labor market in Angola, in particular the impact of the informal sector on the growth and socioeconomic development in Angola.

Annual Magistrates' Conference
Fostering a Unified Magistracy
The Magistrate Commission in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Magistrate in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) are hosting the Annual Magistrates' Conference in Swakopmund in a continued effort to improve service delivery in the judicial sector and ensure the efficient and effective administration of Justice within the country. It is against this backdrop that the Annual Magistrates Conference serves as an annual platform where amendments of acts, policies, and regulations are canvased, challenges in the regions are shared, and strategies are formulated to deal with the ever-increasing court roll. The platform further serves to bring Magistrates from across Namibia together to share best practices and strengthen their capacity with the support of topical experts.

ECSO Project Information Sessions and CSO Stakeholder Meetings
Second Round - IIKaras
The ECSO project team will host the second round of information sessions with the selected CSOs participating in IIKaras region on 24 September in Keetmanshoop. The topic will cover the importance of Participatory Democracy and the role CSOs plays in this process. On 25 September the ECSO project team will then proceed with the second round of CSO meetings with selected participating CSOs in the project with the aim to further support their relationship building efforts with regional stakeholders to achieve their common goals. The project supported by the European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, in association with Womens Action for Development continues to make efforts to improve the sustainability of CSOs and their impact in their communities.

Voters Education Radio Programme
General Election in Namibia in 2024
KAS in partnership with Eagle FM Radio, commences with the "Voters Education Radio Programme". The programme touches on general voter awareness on Namibia's electoral process, and how citizens can participate as voters. While the programme reviews previous elections in the country, it also focuses on people with disabilities as well as the youth, in an effort to understand challenges they face and why they, in some instances, do not participate and vote in elections. The aim of the radio programme is also to educate and provide useful information on electoral process to the public and in particular young first time voters. This programme is part of general voters awareness creation during a crucial election year in Namibia, and it ends in May 2024 .

KAS-TEP Session 4 Good Governance Training, Parliament Tour and Alumni Networking Session
Session 4
The final session for this year's KAS-TEP Programme will be hosted with selected experts on Good Governance, a Tour of Parliament by the 30 beneficiaries remaining in the programme and end off with a Certificate Handover Ceremony for the 2023 Intake, and finally the KAS-TEP Alumni Networking Session and Reunion in celebration of 5 years of the KAS-TEP Programme. Selected Alumni from across Namibia will present their testimonials and share insights into their successes and highlights in their develeopment since joining the progamme. Since inception, the KAS-TEP Programme has shaped over 70 Alumni with capacity building in the areas of emotional intelligence, leadership skills, strategic planning, project management, stakeholder engagement, proposal writing, communication skills, lobbying and advocacy, engagements with Parliament, Local and Regional Authorities, Care Givers, Publicity and last but not least, Community Resource Mobilisation skills. The beneficiaries consist of selected youth representatives of civil society and affiliated stakeholders and institutions with the aim to capacitate civil society to assist decision makers in achieving the national development goals.

This event aims to unveil the winner of the recently designed Children's Advocate Logo as part of a national competition in which schools from across Namibia participated. The event serves to launch the logo and further aims to promote the Children's "My Rights My Superpower" Campaign. To conclude, various key stakeholders of the Office of the Ombudsman have been invited to network and strengthen upcoming collaborations in regard to Children's Rights initiatives across the country.

MSME Digital Bootcamp Otjozondjupa
The final MSME Digital Bootcamp will be hosted for 5 days by NIPDB and KAS jointly and facilitated by NAMCOL at their Computer Centre in Otjiwarongo in the Otjozondjupa region. Over 22 selected MSMEs will attend this training which aims to equip the representatives from a variaty of sectors with the digital skills to run and market their businesses more effectively and sustainably. From how to use your emails, to designing business cards and using Excell to manage your budget and generate quotations and invoices. In a joint effort by the partners to promote social market economy, this training paired with various outreach visits and guest presentations in association with key stakeholders such as the Development Bank of Namibia, NAMRA and local and regional authorities and selected ministries, aims to enhance small business scalability and put local businesses on the map in an effort to promote economic development and alleviate poverty.

Role of Communication in Democracy
Another two days KAS Workshop in collaboration with the Youth League of UNITA (JURA) is jointly hosted in Benguela/Angola to discuss various aspects of Fundamental Rights, Constitutional guidance, Democratic Transition in Angola and Electoral Processes in SADC among representatives from all 18 provinces. The workshop also aims to empower the young politicans to actively participate and take responsibility in society and to add knowledge on Democratic Pillars and to use the opportunity to network on political and economical challenges in Angola.

The Role of Opposition Parties and Political Views
Representative of official Opposition Party UNITA and Member of Parliament in Angola, Hon. Rafael Savimbi, members of the Angolan community coming from different regions of Namibia and KAS Namibia-Angola held a conference in Windhoek to share ideas and information about political and socioeconomic development in Angola. The conference that is aiming to deepen and strengthening Democracy and party alliances in Africa was attended by Namibian official opposition party PDM .
