SEMINAR ON CONSTITUTIONALISM IN AFRICA
This is the 7th Stellenbosch Annual Seminar on Constitutionalism in Africa which will focus on Constitutionalism and the Economy in Africa.
Annual Workshop on International Criminal Justice in Africa
This is an annual meeting of KAS' African Group of Experts on International Criminal Justice. The group comprises of academics, researchers and legal practitioners drawn from Africa with keen interest and expertise in International Criminal Law.
WORKSHOP ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AFRICA
The workshop will bring together experts in the field of human trafficking as well as representatives of the various National Human Right Institutions from the Eastern and Southern African regions to deliberate on the current status of human trafficking in aforementioned regions.
Leaders for Justice Workshop
The workshop will be held in Lagos, Nigeria. The theme "Current challenges of public finance in West Africa“ Some of the countries that will be represented include host nation Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin and Cote d'Ivoire.
Training for South Sudanese Prosecutors and Investigators on International Crimes, including SGBV Crimes
In light of recent calls for increased national accountability for serious crimes, the UN Mission in South Sudan Rule of Law Advisory Section (“UNMISS”) and UN International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals Office of the Prosecutor (“OTP”),in collaboration with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung will conduct an intensive capacity building course for senior national investigators and prosecutors from South Sudan. This skills-based course will endeavour to build understanding of international criminal law and procedure; and share lessons learned in the investigation and prosecution of international crimes.
Training Seminar – Leading in Public Life: Women, Influence and Power Programme
To promote and strengthen the inclusive representation of women who have a legal background to step up into political and public leadership roles and in this way improve the quality of legislation and rule of law. The training will be conducted in collaboration with the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance of the University of Cape Town.
Conference on safeguarding the independence and conditions of service of judicial officers
The purpose of the conference is to develop viable proposals on how to address a number of issues impacting on judicial independence and conditions of service for judicial officers in Africa. The forum will make resolutions and promote their position at the 2019 International IAJ annual meeting that is scheduled to take place in September 2019. The conference will be conducted in collaboration with the Judicial Officers Association of South Africa, the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit - UCT and the International Association of Judges.
INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE SYMPOSIUM - WEST AFRICAN INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE – LEADERSHIP, CHALLENGES, AND OPPORTUNITIES
The symposium seeks to examine and explore the contributions and ongoing challenges facing West Africa in the fight to achieve meaningful justice and accountability for atrocities in the region.

ANTI-CORRUPTION AND ACCOUNTABILITY MOVEMENT IN AFRICA
KAS' Rule of Law Program for Sub-Saharan Africa in collaboration with Adv. Paul Hoffman (SC), Director of Accountability Now (IFAISA) South Africa and in partnership with universities in Nairobi launched the ‘Anti-Corruption and Accountability Movement in Africa’ campaign that seeks to actively involve the youth in the fight against corruption in Africa.

KAS' Rule of Law Program for Sub-Saharan Africa in conjunction with the National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) in Eastern and Southern Africa conducted a workshop on Human Trafficking in Mombasa, Kenya.
LEADERS FOR JUSTICE WORKSHOP
The workshop brought together academics, lawyers and magistrates from Togo, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Benin, Burkina Faso and Nigeria to discuss the critical challenges of public finance in West Africa.
