The Summit will be held under the University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tank and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP), with the aim to provide a regional forum to engage and discuss challenging policy and organisational issues facing think tanks in Africa.

For the second time in succession the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung has been allocated in the ranking of the world's best think thanks established by the TTCSP. KAS has been nominated as best organisation with political party affiliation as well as number 15 of Top (Non-U.S.) Think Tanks Worldwide.
