Workshop
Details
The workshop will focus on these three topic areas:
Coming Waves of Automation: How should we assess the likelihood of various automation scenarios? How should robots and artificial intelligence be regulated? Do we have the tools we need in place? What are the consequences for the labor market, and what policy responses might make sense?
The Future of Work: How can we increase the likelihood that our educational systems are providing the skill sets needed by workers of the future? How can we make worker benefits more portable and our labor market more dynamic?
Creating a Framework for the Future: Given the inherent uncertainty about the direction of future innovations, how can we build flexibility into our policy instruments to allow a quick response?
How can we leverage recent technological innovations to make our labor markets match workers faster? Given the meaningful character of work for individuals, how can economic and labor market policies shape the frame for growth and productivity while respecting the societal role of labor at the same time?
