Call for Proposals - Study on the “Indian Attitudes and Perceptions of Germany and Europe”

The India Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is pleased to announce a call for proposals for research on the topic of Indian attitudes and Perceptions of Germany and Europe. Objective This research examines Indian public attitudes toward Germany and Europe amid global disruptions including US tariffs since 2025, the Russia-Ukraine conflict evolution, skilled migration reforms like Germany's Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz, the EU-India Free Trade Agreement, and the 2026 Iran war's energy shocks and geopolitical impacts. It builds on a prior study by tracking changes in perceptions across economic partnerships (e.g., India-EU FTA), geopolitics (e.g., Europe's Iran war stance), cultural aspirations, and future cooperation priorities, using a extensive survey across Indian cities with statistical analysis. Key questions cover trade-offs in EU ties, Europe's geopolitical credibility, migration appeal, and reciprocity in bilateral relations.
