The inter-linkages between energy security, climate change concerns and human security necessitate a holistic and integrated approach - an approach that takes into account the cross-cutting implications and trade offs implicit in addressing these concerns. State action or policy prescription can hope to achieve little without concerted efforts at discussion and collaboration.

This book is one such attempt at discussing some of the core issues that emerge from the inter-linkages between energy, climate and security. The result of a conference organised jointly by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), the book provides a broad-based insight on how policy makers, the strategic community, the media and academicians perceive and act to address these inter-linkages.

By drawing attention to the inter-connections between the search for energy security, climate change and its impact on traditional and human security, the book highlights ways in which different stakeholders can concurrently address these objectives. Be it the debate on the 'tension multiplying' effect of climate change, the role of the media in disseminating information for collective action, or the policy shift to nuclear energy, the book brings to the fore the critical need for colllaborative discussion and collective action across different levels and policy arenas.
