Eines der zentralen Themen des Seminars war die Rolle der öffentlichen Meinung, der Massenmedien und ihre Eingriffe in das öffentliche Leben. Dieses Buch behandelt auch die Themenkomplexe „Islamismus, Demokratie und der Zusammenstoß der Kulturen“ und den israelisch-palästinensischen Konflikt. Seine Autoren setzen sich für einen umfassenden gesellschaftlichen Dialog ein, durch den die bestehenden Spannungen und Fehlperzeptionen zwischen dem Islam und dem Westen in einer Atmosphäre der Offenheit und Gleichberechtigung überwunden werden können.
