On May 24, 2025, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Lebanon, in collaboration with the Lebanese National Congress (LNC), held the second session of Convention 4.0: A National Dialogue About the New Lebanon at Saint Joseph University (USJ) in Beirut. The focus of this session was on parliamentary elections and electoral law reform—key pillars for shaping Lebanon’s democratic future.
Following opening remarks by LNC Chairman Khalil Helou and KAS Lebanon Director Michael Bauer, over 85 participants engaged in a full day of discussion and debate. Three expert panels explored the outcomes of past elections, assessed the current electoral framework, and debated proposed legal reforms. Speakers included MP Ashraf Rifi, MP Georges Okais, Majd Harb, and legal expert Dr. Rizk Zgheib, moderated by Lina Hamdan and Paula Astih.
The strong turnout and active participation reflected growing interest in institutional reform and inclusive political dialogue. This second session affirmed the Convention’s role as a vital platform for envisioning a more transparent and representative political system in Lebanon.
