For the past few years, Lebanon has been suffering from a socio-economic crisis that has limited traders' ability to import food productions and affected the ability of vulnerable communities to meet their basic necessities. Given this scarcity, maintaining a sustainable local food system is critical in meeting food consumption demands. Therefore, KAS Lebanon together with LLWB decided to start offering urban farming trainings.

Two training days were held on the 15th and 16th of December 2022 to enhance local production, provide participants with knowledge about urban farming, and empower them by promoting sustainability and food security through urban agriculture. Participants learned how to grow their own vegetables, herbs, and flowers on their balconies, small gardens and rooftops.

The training sessions were held on the LLWB rooftop, where the Ardi Ardak Initiative built a farming tent equipped with an advanced irrigation system designed for small spaces and water conservation as part of the overall project.
