Spanning four weeks and six groups, the program targeted over 90 young Lebanese aged 21 to 28, offering intensive sessions on municipal law, governance structures, election procedures, accountability, and public services. A subset of 30 particularly engaged participants received advanced training in municipal advocacy, committee formation, and policy development.
Held at SEED’s offices and partner venues across Tripoli, the program aimed to prepare a new generation of civic actors equipped to participate meaningfully in local elections and municipal work. Sessions were led by trainers Ranim Osman and Ahmad Halawani, and supported by community partners.
The project forms part of KAS’s broader effort to promote youth political empowerment and transparency in Lebanon’s public sector. A mobile app module and media campaign will follow in the coming months to expand outreach and civic education ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.
