💪 Last week, we concluded the AccelerateHER 3.1 Leadership Lab in Kuala Lumpur — and what a powerful two days it was!
Women political leaders from across the political spectrum came together, not as rivals, but as collaborators, building knowledge, strategising, and supporting one another in our shared commitment to advancing women’s political representation in Malaysia. 🤝
With women comprising 47.6% of Malaysia’s population, yet holding only 13.5% of seats in Parliament and 12.2% in state legislative assemblies, the need for cross-party solidarity and sustained efforts to close this gender gap is urgent. ‼️
AccelerateHER 3.1 provided a space to sharpen essential skills — from self-empowerment and negotiating power dynamics, to tackling hate speech, misinformation and disinformation in the political arena. Beyond that, it nurtured something even more powerful: trust and unity among women from different parties, regions, and lived experiences.
A heartfelt thank you to our exceptional trainers:
✨ Dhena Dorai – for guiding participants to rise strong and lead from a place of inner confidence.
✨ Tehmina Kaoosji – for the sharp insights into navigating political mis- and disinformation with strategic clarity.
✨ Guan Heng Tan – for equipping us with tools to influence without apology and negotiate with intention.
Grateful to continue building this movement — one lab, one leader, one story at a time.
