Public broadcasters in Southeast Europe continue to enjoy high levels of trust, as reflected in rankings. Despite generational shifts in content consumption and the competitive disadvantages of their business models, we believe that public broadcasters can strengthen their position through cooperation, strong editorial standards, and the exchange of experiences.
In this context, between December 3rd and 4th 2025, the KAS Media Programme SEE is bringing together representatives of public media, regulators, and academic experts from the region and Germany in Pristina, Kosovo. The event “Strengthening Public Service Media in Challenging Times,” aims to create a space for professional dialogue among them. In the end, the event will explore the main advantages of public service media - their ability to inform and educate society while reflecting and upholding democratic values.
