Since President Suharto stepped down in 1998 Indonesia has been experiencing a transition towards democratic governance. Some progress has been made, but the process is not smooth and it is unclear when the transition will end.

Meanwhile, there have been many political, social, and economic ramifications from this process. With this background, ISEAS with the support of KAS Singapore is organizing a Public Forum on “Governance in Indonesia” to update the current challenges and prospects of the transition towards democratic governance in Indonesia.
