Workshop
Details
In order to effectively and independently administer justice, competent and well-instructed judges capable of rendering fair, speedy, and quality decisions are needed. The provision of practical orientation in judicial institutes is becoming increasingly essential in the modern education of neophyte judges. A systematic and application-oriented training provides the means to learn the detailed rules and procedures of judicial practice, develop experience, and consequently gain the necessary skills for fair and effective court proceedings.
The conference will focus on the central mission of judicial training institutes in assuring the professional, independent, and unbiased training of the magistrates during the initial training programs. As they also play a significant role in the performance development of the judges and prosecutors in-service by providing continuous education and training programs on a consistent basis.
The conference will serve as a round table to continue the exchange of expertise established in 2018 to discuss the best practices and strategies on the judicial institutes’ management and curricula which would ensure a credible and competency based conduct of the judicial system. The sessions will be addressed from a comparative perspective dealing with key topics concerning fundamental principles and training practices, curricula and methods, formats of practical training, mentoring and continuous training, institutional aspects and challenges.
