The Hungary Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung welcomed eleven external and eight Hungarian KAS scholarship holders from nine different nations to Budapest for a two-days seminar on security policy.
The seminar that took place between the 2nd and 5th of April was the second seminar of the regional seminar series "Sur-Place Goes Places" organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung for KAS scholarship holders from all around Central and Eastern Europe.
The aim of the international seminar "Security policy from a European and Hungarian perspective" was to shed light on the changes in security policy since Russia's war of aggression from the European and Hungarian sides and how Europe can respond more efficiently to security threats in its immediate neighborhood in the medium and long term. Renowned Hungarian and international experts, politicians presentend their views on the topic and had lively discussions with the young participants.
The KAS scholarship holders had the opportunity to listen to discourses on topics like the war in Ukraine, economic and geopolitical challenges of China, the policy towards the EU's neighbours, German-Hungarian defence cooperation, German-Hungarian relations, plus the participants gave insight into their own countries' security policy concerns and actualities. In addition, the scholarship holders also explored Budapest and concluded their visit with a tour of the parliament.
