There were also representatives from the German-Australian Chamber of Commerce (GACC), the Austrian Trade Commission (Advantage Austria) as well as the German Consulate General in Sydney. MP Mueller inter alia referred to the upcoming meeting (and decision of) the German Climate Cabinet. Further, he addressed the newly elected President of the EU Commission’s (Ursula von der Leyen) climate pledges. In a subsequent Q&A session, participants inter alia raised the lack of an integrated energy and climate policy in Australia, the costs of the energy transition in both countries as well as the German decision to phase out fossil fuels and nuclear power.

KAS Australia would like to thank the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity for their excellent cooperation and looks forward to a future cooperation.
