The Greece/Cyprus Office of KAS and ELIAMEP (Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy) organise on Wednesday 21 April 2021 an online discussion on "Making Sense of the Albanian Election 2021:  Actors, Implications and Challenges".

The upcoming national elections in Albania are seen as crucial for the country’s future, with the international community having set the successful completion of the electoral process as a precondition for Albania’s EU membership to progress. In this context, a panel of prominent speakers from Albania, Greece and Germany will analyze developments in the run up to the election, seeking to shed light on both key aspects of Albanian politics and the significance of this election for the political, social and economic life of the country. The panel will also reflect on the political dynamics of the election and the next day for Albania, discussing what the new government should prioritize, the challenges that lie ahead, and the key domestic and foreign policy issues which will continue to dominate the political and public debate.
