Countering terrorism – Challenges and Options

On 5th March 2019, the Forum for Strategic Initiative (FSI) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Office in India organized a roundtable discussion on the topic of countering terrorism. The discussion was held on the broader issue of global terrorism in general while the case to the point was the current tensions between India and Pakistan. The aim was to examine the consequences of the incidents, challenges and the possible counter-actions in this regard. The participants included former diplomats, senior geo-strategic experts from army and air force backgrounds, geo-economic strategists and media.

WAN-IFRA and KAS: World Editors' Forum

From 19th to 21st February 2019 the WAN-IFRA, World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, organised the 8th digital conference on the theme "Driving Revenue in Digital" for news publishers which brought ideas on digital trends, technology and innovations, vernacular advertising, Indian language web and revenue strategies together.

Perspectives of Europe, India, ASEAN and Australia

The Delhi Policy Group (DPG) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) jointly organized a conference on “Emerging Realignments in the Indo-Pacific: Perspectives of Europe, India, ASEAN and Australia” in New Delhi on December 5 and 6 2018, where international speakers and participants, including heads of leading think tanks from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia and senior representatives from leading German and French think tanks exchanged their perspectives within the format of a four session conference.

Think 20 Mumbai: Dialogue on Global Economic Governance

Gateway House and KAS organize "Dialogue on Global Economic Governance"

On Jan 27th and 28th, 2018 Gateway House Mumbai in cooperation with the India office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and others organized a dialogue on global economic governance. International financial architecture, fintech, sustainable finance and SME policy for development were the key focus areas of this event. The dialogue also highlighted global governance and the future of politics.

Preparatory Meeting for the 36th Joint Staff Development Programme

The KAS India office and the members of the Joint Staff Development Programme (JSDP) - KAS Partner Network - met on 6th February 2019 to prepare the annual JSDP meeting in September. Madras Management Association and the KAS India office organised the meeting in Chennai

The panelists, amongst them representatives of media, politics and the public sector, discussed problems arising from the journalistic environment, the shrinking credibility of the profession itself and the question of a right handling of the #MeToo movement.

Functional Governance for a New India: Politics of Economics

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in association with Madras Management Association had organised the National Conclave on the theme “Functional Governance for a New India: Politics of Economics” in Chennai on the 12th of November. This Conclave is the third of its series Functional Governance for a New India and on the theme was “Politics of Economics”. Observer Research Foundation (ORF), Chennai Chapter, was the Knowledge Partner for the Conclave. Andhra Chamber of Commerce, IIT Madras Alumni Association IIMA Alumni Association and IIMC Alumni Association, Chennai Chapter, were the Partners for the Conclave.

KAS-PHDCCI MSME Conclave

PHD Chamber in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung organized a two day MSME Conclave “आप की कहानी आप की जुबानी” on 15-16 November, 2018 at Chandigarh. The two-day event addressed the problems and obstacles MSMEs are facing in the current economic scenario and was unique for its endeavour towards fostering a direct exchange between policy makers/implementors and the industry itself.

2nd India Forum on China

The India Forum on China (IFC), hosted by the Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS) in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and the Goa University from 7 - 9 December 2018 in Goa, is being developed as an annual conference where eminent scholars, practitioners and policymakers hold in-depth deliberations on a topic pertaining to China in an Indian setting and keeping in mind Indian perspectives. The 1st India Forum on China was organized in Goa on 15-16 December 2017 to explore the theme of “Deciphering China’s Quest for Global and Regional Leadership”.
