5th TERI-KAS Environmental Governance Policy Dialogue

TERI, in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), organized a series of dialogues titled “Environmental Governance in the context of Sustainable Development in India”. Four dialogues were conducted focusing on the northern mountain region, the western desert region, the coastal region including marine ecological systems and the plateaus and hilly regions of India. A fifth concluding policy dialogue was organized on 14-15 July, 2015 which aimed to bring together these diverse perspectives fromacross the country.

Global Security

From 15. until 22. May 2015, a German delegation led by Dr. Matthias Rößler, President of the Saxon Legislative Assembly, visited India for a conference and a political Dialogue Program on Terrorism and challenges for the global security.

Convocation of the Statesman Print Journalism School

On May 20th, 2015, the seventh batch of the Statesman Print Journalism School (SPJS) received their graduation diplomas. The SPJS, founded in 2008 together with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, aims at imparting young journalists, not only the skills for good writing, but also with a set of values that commits them to journalistic work of the highest standards. This year six young journalists completed the one-year-long programme.

Economy and Energy

From 19. until 22. January 2015, a Political Dialogue Programme on “Economy and Energy” with Dr. Joachim Pfeiffer, Member of the German Parliament and Spokesperson for Economic and Energy Affairs of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, took place in Delhi and Chennai.

Federal Minister of Finance Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble meets Party Leaders of the BJP

Roundtable Discussion

The Federal Minister of Finance of Germany, Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble, met Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ram Madhav, National General Secretary of the BJP as well as several other Representatives of the BJP leadership during a roundtable discussion organized by the KAS in New Delhi on 20. January 2015.

Vocational Training and Skill Development

From 18. until 23. November 2014, a German delegation with MP Tobias Zech visited India for a political Dialogue and Conference Program on vocational training and skill development as economic drivers. During extensive dialogues with Indian MPs, representatives of the Indian economy and civic society, the delegates explored the opportunities and challenges of a deeper Indo-German relationship in the areas of economic cooperation and educational exchange.

Foreign policy and development cooperation

A delegation of Members of the Federal German Parliament and Legislative Assembly visited New Delhi and Chennai from 16. until 23. November 2014 as part of a political and economic dialogue and conference program on foreign policy and development cooperation, initiated by the KAS India office.

Infrastructure and urban development

From 27. October till 02. November 2014, a delegation of members of the Berlin House of Representatives visited New Delhi and Jaipur as part of a political dialogue and conference program on Infrastructure and urban development, initiated by the KAS India office.

31st Annual Meeting of the JSDP Partner Network

The KAS partner network Joint Staff Development Programme (JSDP) holds its 31st Annual Meeting from 05 to 08 October in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The focus of the discussion will be the constructive and healthy role of the civil society for national development.

Political Dialogue Programme for Members of the Indian Parliament

From 18 to 22 September 2014 a delegation of Members of the Indian Parliament, headed by Anurag Singh Thakur, Member of Parliament and President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), visited Germany in the course of a political dialogue programme organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
