In the course of the TERI-KAS Dialogue series „Strengthening environmental governance in the context of sustainable development“, the first dialogue on the mountain ecosystems took place from 29.07 – 31.07.12 in Shimla.

1. India visit of Philipp Mißfelder, Member of the German Federal Parliament and Foreign Policy Spokesman of the CDU/CSU

For the first time, Philipp Mißfelder, Member of the German Federal Parliament and Foreign Policy Spokesman of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary-Group visited India on 4th and 5th of July 2012 where he was the keynote-speaker during two lecture events: the TERI-KAS Dialogue on „Resource Security, European and Indian Perspective" and the IDSA Policy Roundtable on Foreign and Security policy.

II ICRIER-KAS Quarterly Seminar Series

On Thursday, June 14, 2012 the second seminar in the ICRIER-KAS Quarterly Seminar Series on “India’s IT industry in the 21st Century: Vanguard of the Services Export Revolution” was delivered by Mr Som Mittal, President, National Association of Software & Service Companies (NASSCOM).

4. SPJS-Jahrgang verabschiedet

Am 16. Mai 2012 schlossen die Absolventen des 4. Jahrgangs der Statesman Print Journalism School (SPJS) ihre einjährige Journalistenausbildung ab. Der renommierte Journalist, Rajinder Puri, überreichte in einer feierlichen Zeremonie den Absolventen ihre Abschlussdiplome. An der Abschlussfeier nahmen neben zahlreiche Gästen aus dem Medienbereich auch der Deutsche Generalkonsul und Vertreter der Wirtschaft teil, die gemeinsam mit den Absolventen der drei vorherigen Jahrgänge die angehenden Printjournalisten zu ihrem erfolgreichen Abschluss beglückwünschten.

Curriculum Panchayati Raj Institutions

Mani Shankar Aiyar, Member of Parliament and former Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, put special emphasis on the role of the KAS, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra and the partner network JSDP during the release of the training manual „Panchayati Raj Curriculum – A Trainer´s Handbook“ on 27.04.2012 in Delhi. The Curriculum is a valuable support for the rural people for a better understanding of their rights and obligations regarding the local self-government, he claimed.
