Dr. Lars Hänsel presented with the Ben-Gurion Medal

In the frame of the festive European Forum at the Ben-Gurion University, Dr. Lars Hänsel, as director of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Israel, was presented with the Ben-Gurion Medal for the contribution of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung to the Israeli-European relations.

A few years ago the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung founded at the Ben-Gurion University the “Adenauer Division for Study of European Politics and Society” in order to promote a greater awareness within Israel of the growing importance of Europe and of the EU and give the Israeli public the opportunity to learn about contemporary political and social developments in Europe. Prof. David Newman and Dr. Sharon Pardo thanked Dr. Lars Hänsel for his vision and commitment. During the conferment ceremony the Israel Sinfonietta gave a recital of works by Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi and Bach.
