The Partnership for Peace is an association of 152 civil society organizations (CSOs), spread across Rift Valley, Nyanza and Western regions of Kenya. Though each organization has its own specialism and area of focus, all are joined under the partnership by their belief and expertise in conflict management and peace-building.

The organizations were brought together in 2009, with the support of the European Union and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), to participate in a peace project, which would enhance their skills and capacities to prevent and resolve conflicts. Over three years, the organizations received extensive training in conflict and organizational management - as well as participating in the research and development of national policy recommendations to enhance peace in the regions.

Today, the Partnership for Peace continues through regional peace networks established by the CSOs, to carry forward and strengthen their work on the ground. In Nyanza, it is the Nyanza Partners for Peace Alliance (NPPA); in Western, the Western Region Peace Network (WREPEN); in the south Rift Valley NABOK; in Central Rift BAKENA; and in north Rift, the Coalition for Peace in North Rift (COPEN).

In Western and Rift Valley, the networks receive technical support from the initial regional coordinating partners, Mt Elgon Resident Association and Catholic Justice and Peace Commission, respectively.

This documentary celebrates the achievements of the Partnership for Peace project, the CSO networks and the communities which have hearts and minds to building peace in Kenya.
