On 15th April 2016, the debut meeting with the West Pokot County Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF) took place. Establishment of CBEF is done in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act 2012 section 137. It is set up to coordinate and collect views from the public during the budgeting process and functions as a think tank for the county government in terms of financial and economic management. The CBEF assists the county to analyse and identify its priorities as they budget for programs, improve coordination between the citizens and government and improve harmonization of project implementation and funding.

This meeting aimed at providing technical support to and facilitating cooperation between the Civil Society, State Actors as well as the County Budget and Economic Forums also took place in further selected counties, e.g. Machakos, Kitui, Elgeyo Marakwet and Makueni.
