MEDIA SITUATION IN KOSOVO

One of the classical fields of action for Konrad Adenauer Stiftung is that of civic and political education. Within this framework we dedicate a special interest to the collaboration with women organizations for the increase of women`s empowerment and participation. Therefore Konrad Adenauer Foundation present Kosovo Policy Brief analysing the media situation with a special focus on gender representation in Kosovo. The paper is written by Jeta Abazi, teaching assistant at the Department of Journalism, University of Prishtina, who was recently awarded the Balkans Fellowship for Journalistic Excellence. Her text gives a short overview of the media situation and examines how much space is given to women in daily newspapers as well as how they are represented in articles.
