Starting in September 2016, women who are interested in public affairs were recruited and received in-depth training on how best to contribute to their municipalities. Among those recruited, three women had previously run for office in the 2016 municipal elections.
Training took place with the following three activities:
1.A workshop covering “Municipal Law and Municipal Powers" which took place on September 2nd, 2016 and was attended by 14 women.
2.A seminar dedicated to “The Importance of the Municipal Work" which occurred on September 6th, 2016 and was attended by 24 women.
3.A workshop about “The Municipality's Role in Development and the Municipality and Good Governance" which was conducted on September 16th, 2016 and was attended by 11 participants.
Expected recruitment and training objectives were met. Further projects are scheduled in the upcoming weeks.
