Rhodes Journalism Review

Rhodes Journalism Review is a specialist magazine published by the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Rhodes University to help South African and African journalists understand the ever-changing context in which they work. Distributed to all major newsrooms, role players and communication policy makers in the South African media, the title also goes out to media scholars and others throughout the continent, including Europe, Australia and America. This biannual title is a window for practitioners to reflect on aspects of their craft.

Since 2002 the KAS Media programme has provided financial support to help publish RJR. The magazine has focused on such topics as: new technology, African media debates, journalism education and racism in the media. The KAS's funding of this project ensures ongoing enrichment of journalists' across Africa about the dynamic nature of the discipline across their countries and the continent in a distinctive, widely distributed and relatively easily-read tome.
