On the 19th of May our scholars met with Kiril Valchev, Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), with whom they had a discussion about the journalistic opportunities at BTA and the future developments of the Bulgarian News Agency. The scholars showed interest in the BTA archivе and the information exchanges with global news agencies. Aneta Paunska, Head of the “Shkola BTA” Team, led the tour of the newsroom and some of the archive spaces. Through the tour, she shared with our scholars a lot about the history of BTA and its structure.

The KAS Media Programme South East Europe awards the “Adenauer Journalism Scholarship” twice a year. It supports talented journalism students at universities in Sofia. Thus, the Media Programme aims to support the new generation of young journalists in the media.
