Details
As from 21 – 22 November 2022, KAS in partnership with Swakopmund Municipality are hosting a 2-day engagement forum with key stakeholders, community based organisations (CBOs) and civil society organisations (CSOs).
The aims of this 2-day discussion forum are to set clear direction with regard to the roles and responsibilities of the Municipality of Swakopmund and selected invited Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in the Swakopmund Rural and Urban Constituencies, as well as to establish more effective coordination amongst both sides with regard to the planning and implementation of activities of CBO/CSOs to assist local authorities and key ministries in understanding community needs and implementing relevant solutions accordingly for the sake of sustainable development in the region.
Furthermore, the dialogue’s aim is to strengthen overall engagement and outline clear communication guidelines between the Swakopmund Municipality and key stakeholders, in particular through various campaigns and regular stakeholder meeting forums, as well as implementation of a local CBO/CSO steering committee, ultimately for the sake of addressing existing gaps and available resources and identifying solutions that are responsive to the needs of the local community.
