Opportunities for Namibian Youth

The role of education

Together with our cooperation partner TUCSIN, the KAS Namibia & Angola organised a conference on the topics of education and youth which took place in Windhoek on the 8th of March 2016.

The event "Opportunities for the Namibian Youth - The role of education" brought together various stakeholders and experts from the educational sector as well as from the Ministry and looked at chances and challenges in regards to the Namibian Educational System as well as the Namibian Youth. Speakers were

  • Bruce Parcher (TUCSIN): The Curriculum and Culture
  • Marie Jeanne Ndimbira (Twamanguluka): Current Situation of Youth
  • Mandela Kapere (NYC): Education and Global Village
  • Christopher Olivier (TUCSIN): A Blended Future
  • Ndeuli Hamatumwa (Entrepreneuer): Developing Entrepreneurs
The conference also included a panel discussion on the topic "What are the characteristics that should be reflected in the education system to address the issues identified?". Finally, two TUCSIN Alumni introduced themselves and talked about their individual success stories and the role that education played in their lives.

The conference took place at the Safari Court Hotel in Windhoek and hosted roughly 100 participants.
