The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Philippines Internship Program aims to provide students with professional skills and practical experience in working for an international, political organization and think tank. Over the course of the internship, KAS interns will be able to:
- gain experience as a professional working in the field in an output-oriented, multi-faceted, and dynamic work environment.
- gain better insight of Philippine politics and society;
- deepen their understanding of KAS and contribute to its impact in various issue areas relating to democracy, governance, rule of law, foreign affairs, security, the social market economy, innovation, media, and youth empowerment;
- meet and interact with experts and important stakeholders in various fields related to the work of KAS Philippines; and
- be part of the global network of KAS.
Interns are entitled to a stipend and a certificate upon successful completion of the internship.
Responsibilities
Interns support the KAS Country Director and the Program Managers in their different work areas. The KAS Internship Program is a learning opportunity designed for students to gain practical experience and skills in program management and research in an international organization and think tank. Therefore, the tasks and activities to be performed by the intern is understood to be based on the current operational needs of the KAS.
KAS Philippines is operating on a hybrid work arrangement. Therefore, interns are expected to report physically in the KAS Philippines Office in Makati City.
Completion Requirements
To complete the internship, it is understood that interns were able to:
- Provide satisfactory support and contribution to the KAS Country Director and Program Managers on the projects where he or she is assigned;
- Submit a narrative report about his/her internship experience in KAS Philippines. Pictures relevant to their experience are highly encouraged; and
- Produce and present a written research report on a topic of choice that is related to the work of KAS Philippines, to be published under KAS Philippines’ Adenauer Young Researchers’ Report Series.
Requirements may be used and posted on the KAS website and social media pages, with proper attributions.
Eligibility - Filipino Nationals
Interns must:
- be a Filipino national.
- be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in the Philippines both prior to and after the internship assignment. You must at least be in your 3rd year of undergraduate studies.
- be engaged in a field of study that fits one of KAS Philippines’ main areas of work.
- be proficient in English.
- possess a passion for politics and political issues, pronounced willingness to learn and engage in new topics, adaptable, and able to work in a team.
- committed to work with our team for the entire duration of the internship period
Background, knowledge, and experience in the following areas will be considered an advantage:
- graphic design and familiarity with Canva,
- workshop facilitation, and
- social media and political campaigning.
Eligibility - German Nationals
Interns must:
- be a German national.
- be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s program both prior to and after the internship. For undergraduate applicants, you must at least be in your 3rd year of bachelor’s degree level studies.
- be engaged in a field of study that fits one of KAS Philippines’ main areas of work.
- be proficient in English.
- possess a passion for politics and political issues, pronounced willingness to learn and engage in new topics, adaptable, and able to work in a team.
- committed to work with our team for the entire duration of the internship period
Background, knowledge, and experience in the following areas will be considered an advantage:

- Application Period: March 5 to 15, 2026
- Shortlisting and Interview: March 16 to 25, 2026
- Internship Period: May 12 to August 18, 2026
Interested and eligible applicants should fill out the KAS Philippines Internship Application Form to be considered for the internship position. We will only review applications receive through this online form. Applications submitted via other channels (e.g. email) will NOT be processed.
Applications will only be reviewed once the application period for that internship period has ended.
