This Workshop is one of the several training workshops on environmental law and governance that the Programme has organized, together with the University of Cebu and Oceana Philippines International, who have been long-standing partners of KAS in this area.

The focus of this training workshop is on the role of stakeholders in strengthening the environmental rule of law for improved environmental laws, management and governance. Through the participation of representatives from the various branches of the legal system, as well as environmental law scholars and specialists, this Workshop seeks to strengthen the capacity of government agencies on environmental laws and procedures, enhance linkages between and among government bodies, academe and civil society to encourage active public engagement on environmental law issues, and to imbue a deeper appreciation of the crucial role that all stakeholders play in promoting and strengthening the environmental rule of law in Asia.
