On 18th May 2012 the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation (KAS), partnering with TGCL (Tanzanian-German Centre for Postgraduate Studies in Law), conducted a workshop on the constitutional reform processes and integration in East Africa at the University of Dar es Salaam.

Opened by the German ambassador, Klaus- Peter Brandes, the workshop proceeded with Prof. (Ms) Ulrike Wanitzek (Chair at Universität Bayreuth and co-director of TGCL) giving a short welcoming speech. Mr. Justice James Ogoola of the East African Court of Justice gave the keynote speech. Prof. PLO Lumumba (advocate of the High Courts of Kenya and Tanzania and Law Associate Professor at the University of Nairobi.) and Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi (Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Dar es Salaam) and the director of the Ugandan NGO Kituo cha Katiba) gave presentations moderated by Prof. Hartmut Hamann (Professor at Freie Universität Berlin). The concluding discussion was moderated by Prof. Christian Roschmann (director of the KAS Rule of Law Programm for Sub Saharan Africa).

The workshop was organized in connection with a series of events organized by the KAS Tanzania program.
